Terms & Conditions

You agree to Catalan Trails terms and conditions by doing one or more of the following actions:

  • Accessing the website.
  • Booking an activity even if the booking has been made through a third party company.
  • Participating in an experience offered by Catalan Trails.

If you do not agree to these terms and conditions then you are not entitled to do one of the above mentioned actions.

Payment of Deposits and Balances

Catalan Trails requires a full payment (or a deposit of 30% of the total amount) in order to confirm a booking. Payments can be made via credit card by PayPal on the Catalan Trails website. This payment will be made through a secure server provided by Paypal.

In the case of only paying a deposit, the balance of the total cost is to be paid following Catalan Trails instructions.

Refund policy

We know that travel plans can change. If you wish to make an alteration to your tour, please email us at bookings@catalantrails.cat and we will do our best to accommodate your changes. If you need to cancel your participation in a tour for any reason, please send us an email at bookings@catalantrails.cat as soon as possible.

Please note that our refund policy is the following:

  • 100% of payment, if the cancellation is made 15 or more days prior to a tour.
  • 75% of payment, if the cancellation is made within 14 to 7 days prior to a tour. In case the customer and Catalan Trails find a common agreement, a change of date can be offered to the customer at no extra charge.
  • 50% of payment, if the cancellation is made within 6 to 2 days prior to a tour. In case the customer and Catalan Trails find a common agreement, a change of date can be offered to the customer at no extra charge.
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations made within 48 hours prior to a tour.
  • No shows will receive no refund.

Refunds will be processed to the credit card / Paypal account used for the original booking and the cancellation will be complete when you receive an email of cancellation from the Catalan trails team. In the event that Catalan Trails is forced to suspend a tour due to any factors outside of its control, the company shall offer an alternative in the form of another tour or another date, aiming to adapt to the availability of the client. Should this not be possible the entirety of the fee paid shall be refunded.

Customer responsabilities

As a guest and client of Catalan Trails I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied and agreed to participate in the service designated on this booking request. I am voluntarily participating in this trip with the knowledge of the numerous risks and dangers involved.

All Catalan Trails guests and clients are responsible for:

Having or contracting their own personal insurance policy to assist them in the event of injury and/or accidental death while being hosted by Catalan Trails or subcontracted guides and guide services of Catalan Trails. Catalan Trails assumes absolutely no responsibility for injury or accidental death. Insurance for injury and accidental death is offered through a third party provider. Information for such insurance can be provided upon request. Clients are responsible for choosing a trip that suits their abilities, fitness level and state of mental health. Communicating any physical, mental, emotional limitations or any food allergies on-line in the booking form or by mail (bookings@catalantrails.cat) to Catalan Trails prior to tour departure. If you are booking a tour or services for someone other than yourself then be aware that you are making choices for that person(s) regarding physical ability, interest level, price and booking conditions and injury and accidental death insurance policy purchase or waiving of injury and accidental death insurance. Arriving at the trip start with the appropriate clothing and specially appropriate hiking shoes; respecting nature and the laws of areas visited; following environmental guidelines and regulations while on the trip in accordance with leader direction; and respecting the rights of all other clients and tour and/or service participants. Looking after their personal belongings during the whole experience. Customers are required to arrive to the meeting point 10 minutes before the starting time of the experience to avoid creating a delay. In all of our experiences, we will not be able to wait more than 10 minutes in order to respect the other guests. If a customer is late and therefore misses part of an experience or even the whole experience, Catalan trails will not offer any kind of compensation or refund for that experience.

Catalan Trails limitations of liability

Catalan trails is not liable for body injury, accidental death or property damage or theft as a result of (but not limited to): falling, physical exertion for which a guest is not prepared; forces of nature; travel by train, car, boat or other conveyance, or by bicycle, ski, horseback, foot or other form of active; consumption of alcoholic beverages; civil unrest; terrorism; breakdown of equipment; high altitude; lack of or limited access to medical attention in remote locations; and the adequacy of medical attention once provided. Catalan Trails is not liable for additional expenses a customer may incur as a result of a late start and/or late return. Customers and guests of Catalan Trails give permission to take pictures or to make videos of the experiences for marketing purposes.
