Full Tour Description

After about one and a half hour pleasant drive on a AC Minivan, we will reach Rupit, one of Catalunya hidden gems from where we will start hiking. Our path goes across beautiful forests, and hanging across Collsacabra cliffs, a natural balcony with breathtaking views of Susqueda reservoir and surrounding areas. On our way we will see the famous Salt de Sallent, the highest waterfall in catalonia of about 115 meters. If we are lucky we will spot the impressive eagles flying very close to us!

After about 3 hour pleasant hike we will come back to Rupit, a XVI century medieval town where we will go straight to our selected traditional local restaurant to enjoy a well deserved 3-course lunch.

In the afternoon we will enjoy a guided tour through the cobbled streets, of the well preserved medieval town of Rupit. Finally we will have some free time before coming back to Barcelona.

This hike took us deep inside of the beautiful Catalonian countryside. Ramon’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the geographical features and historical background greatly enhanced our experience. He was attentive to our needs throughout the day and answered any questions we had. Lunch was a delicious and cultural highlight. All in all, this was truly a great hike and adventure. We highly recommend this trip to travelers wanting an off the beaten path experience. —-Alayne and Kelly

Ramon was excellent and professional throughout. We were in Barcelona for 3 days but did want to have a day hiking in some of the beautiful countryside just outside of the city. We originally booked the hiking experience for the Sunday. Ramon contacted us OJ Thursday to suggest that because of the forecast for a poor weather on the Sunday he could offer to take us on the Friday instead. This worked very well. He was very good in our initial communication with us, making suggestions based on the understanding of what we wanted to achieve. We visited Rupit and hiked for several hours on the local trails enjoying stunning rock formations and waterfalls. We ended the day with a meal at a local restaurant and enjoyed some local delicacies. Ramon picked us up from our apartment where we stayed and dropped us off at the end of the day, leaving us with suggestions of what else to see and recommendations on places to eat. We also enjoyed discussing the local culture, history and politics. All of which gave us significant insight which can only be achieved with someone who’s been born and lived all their life in the areaZ no hesitation in strongly recommending Ramon! Thank you for a fantastic day 🙂
